I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Avocados from Mexico. I received a promotional item as a thank you for participating.
In my diaper bag at all times, I have what some parents have laughed at as the funniest “necessity” they’ve ever seen. Where others stash baby food pouches and jars, I store avocado baby food in its purest form. I’ll never forget the first time I pulled a whole avocado out at a restaurant and proceeded to vigorously roll it around on the table, outer shell in tact, before puncturing it and squeezing out smooshed avocado baby food (infant guacamole?). The parents at the booth next to us were AMAZED. It was as if I’d just created sliced bread from scratch. You can’t even begin to imagine their shock when I pulled out a banana and did the exact same thing.
Living in Southern California very close to the Mexican border, there’s no shortage of Avocados from Mexico around here. Our family takes full advantage of our stock by eating avocados daily. It’s one of the healthiest fats you can find, and just made sense as a first food for our babies. Other ways we eat it are on top of scrambled eggs, sliced in half and heated on the grill, spread onto chips and as the basis for my mom’s infamous seven-layer dip. I’ve even seen friends use avocados as a primary ingredient for soothing face masks!
Are you stoked about avocado baby food? Looking for more fun avocado tips? Check out the Avocados from Mexico community. You can find cool recipes, share your own creations, and apply to be an avocado blogger yourself! You can also buy some fun stuff from the Avocados from Mexico store. I discovered some awesome avocado fries I plan to cook up and a cute “I Heart Avocados” bag that I think would be cute for stashing Sidekick’s avocado baby food in.
How do you take your avocados?
