My boys, today you are almost 10 months and 2 and a half years, respectively.
How did that happen?
I laughed earlier this month as some of my friends sent their kids off to kindergarten with teary eyes. “Now you can sleep!” I said. Truth be told, one day I’ll be there sobbing right alongside them.
The days of young parenthood occasionally look like this. Responsibilities pile up. Bills and work, a delicate juggle. But I don’t want to get bogged down and miss what’s happening right in front of me: the miracle of little people forming and living their lives in these moments.
I want to cherish childhood.
I’m proud of the amazing things we get to see and do. We grab our diaper bags and strollers and we experience the world.
We have many important things on our list. Things like playing and jumping and getting dirty.
Laughing. Running. Eating. Today, and every day, we need to play.
How do you cherish childhood?
