Earlier this week I represented San Diego Bargain Mama on The CW’s San Diego channel 6 San Diego Living show, where I made delicious stuffed hot dogs in their studio kitchen. Stuffed hot dogs use just three ingredients: hot dogs, mashed potatoes and cheese. You can also spruce it up a bit with toppings like bacon bits, relish, ketchup and mustard. This recipe would be perfect to to use up leftovers after a summer barbecue or to host a fun hot dog bar for a kid’s birthday party.
Check out the recipe on my San Diego Bargain Mama column, Budget-Friendly In The Kitchen! My friend Angela from The Pinky Project was also featured on The CW last week talking about affordable summer activities for the whole family. Her advice? Beat the heat with kid-friendly movies and check out local cultural activities and parks. Don’t forget to plan ahead and bring water, hats, sunblock and a change of clothes for a foolproof day with the family.
