Oh my gosh, I have been SO busy. The baby’s due in just seven weeks and I’m in that obsessive “trying to get everything arranged ahead of time” mode. I wanted to go ahead and pick out Christmas cards (since I’m sure I’ll be too sleep-deprived to focus come December), and someone suggested I combine the baby announcement with the holiday stuff for one awesome set of holiday birth announcements. Genius!
I love Minted’s selection of both holiday and birth announcement cards. For the holidays, they have all sorts of great family-oriented cards, ranging from the traditional single photo layout to the always-a-favorite year-in-review cards. We also used their birth announcements for Some Boy’s big reveal. I loved that their layouts weren’t too cutesy and gave us tons of options to customize. But holiday birth announcements? I wasn’t sure what I’d be able to find to combine the two, and figured I’d have to make some custom adjustments to a pre-existing holiday card to pull off my holiday birth announcements.
Holiday Birth Announcements
Turns out Minted was two steps ahead of me. I guess I’m not the first busy mom who’s tried to kill two birds with one stone!
They have a ton of different options, ranging from ones perfect for first-time parents to those Best of all, they can all be customized to be flat, folded, made with liners and labels and printed on different paper (their TripleThick™ paper is the thickest paper available anywhere, made from three sheets of paper. It’s as thick as museum board, with a cotton texture). My favorite part is the ability to customize the back or inside of just about any card to reflect personal statements or more detailed information.
Ding ding, we have a winner! I absolutely love the understated beauty of this card. We can customize the back with a group photo and a quick recap of our year as a family. Those of you who know us in person…you can expect these holiday birth announcements to be gracing your mailboxes soon. Of course there is still a surprise or two waiting for you: anyone care to guess the baby’s name, gender or weight?
