I kind of worry that the more livestock I accrue, the less hip I become. Like I’m slowly slipping away from pop culture into my own little farm land. Or is it trendy to have goats now? I can never keep up. In an effort to maintain some semblance of societal awareness, Nate and I are making a point to take the boys to the movies at least once a month. They’re finally at an age where we can do the movies with kids thing sans meltdowns. It is AWESOME. Not since I was six years old have I been so stoked to see Miss Piggy.
Solutions for Movies with Kids
We’ve teamed up with Regal LA Live to offer monthly movie ticket giveaways for our readers, and we’ll also be sharing some of our favorite tips for movies with kids. This month’s tip? Get kids excited about the latest movies by drawing your favorite characters together! Download these Muppets Most Wanted printables (courtesy of Disney), sharpen your Kermit skills and gear up for a trip to the theater.
If you live in the area and haven’t been to Regal LA Live yet, you’re totally missing out. Los Angeles knows how to do movie theaters right, and this spot is one of the top in family entertainment. Comfortable seats, massive screens, awesome sound and a bajillion showtimes to fit your schedule. The lot diagonally across the street is $5 for 4 hours with validation, leaving plenty of time for you to ogle at the cool tourist attractions in the area. The Staples Center (where I saw The Grammys) is right here along with Nokia Plaza, where there is always something going on. It’s kind of like the Times Square of the West Coast. Pro tip: nab some grub at Smashburger. It’s relatively inexpensive, kid-friendly and offers something to fit just about any diet.
