I’ve been an iPhone girl for awhile now but I have to say, I’m not particularly impressed with the latest model. I was all set to upgrade until a few friends of mine got the iPhone 5 and it was just…kind of blah. There weren’t any features that made me feel particularly compelled to shell out $200+ for the latest version. I decided to stick with my iPhone 4 for awhile. THEN, Apple put out this lame update that took away my Google Maps and deleted YouTube and made everything all screwy. Annoying. So I’ve been in phone limbo, not sure where to turn.
Meet The New Windows Phone 8
That is, until I saw the new Window Phone 8. It has this super-fancy home screen with Live Tiles, so I can pin what matters most and arrange my Start screen just how I want it to see everything that’s going on, as it happens. The new Windows Phone 8 puts my favorite people, apps, music, directions and more front and center. I can pin my husband’s profile and cyberstalk him effortlessly, without constantly having to open Facebook to see his latest antics. I can listen to the new Mumford and Sons album at the touch of a single button, without having to open my music player and browse through a list of thousands of songs. I can see the latest recipes from my favorite Pinterest foodies and then hop on over to my grocery list to plan dinner. Best of all, the new Windows Phone 8 has a Kids’ Corner separate from all of the other features on the phone…so I don’t have to worry about Some Boy accidentally dialing my old boss again. Awkward.
So the new Windows Phone 8 is on my list this year. I’m also pretty intrigued by their giant new tablet, Surface. Have you guys seen this thing? Amazing. I’ve gotta say, I’m impressed with the new Windows Phone 8 and all of Windows’ offerings this year. If I were Apple, I’d be a little bit nervous…they’ve suddenly got some stiff competition and to me, the grass is looking greener on the other side.
