How I came to make a homemade ice cream out of a creamer is sort of an interesting story. My friends all rave about this Coffee-Mate Natural Bliss creamer so I decided to pick some up at Walmart. I was admiring the natural creamer’s four ingredients – nonfat milk, heavy cream, sugar and natural flavors – when it occurred to me that these are the exact ingredients I use in my homemade ice cream! I do add eggs to my homemade ice cream to keep it stiff, but I bet this stuff would make a delicious soft-serve. I gave it a shot. It rocked my socks. Here’s how I did it: I like to call this, “The Lazy Girl’s Guide to Homemade Ice Cream.”
- Coffee-Mate Natural Bliss creamer
- Add one container of cold Coffee-Mate Natural Bliss Creamer to your ice cream machine.
- Process it according to the standard ice cream-making instructions.

Process it according to the standard ice cream-making instructions. I use a KitchenAid ice cream maker attachment that’s been thoroughly pre-frozen, so I simply mix it on low speed for twenty minutes.
Voila! No-fuss homemade ice cream.
Scoop out whatever you plan to eat right away and store the rest immediately in a freezer-safe container.
This ice cream is very sweet (obviously, it’s made from coffee creamer), so a tart fruit compliments it well. It actually reminds me almost exactly of Coldstone’s sweet cream ice cream.
Oh, and the creamer is perfect in coffee. I’m kind of a traditional coffee girl myself, preferring mine with just cream and sugar (and sometimes some whipped cream), so this helps me get that same natural flavor while saving me a couple steps. You know what would be really delicious? Some of this creamer, frozen into ice cubes, plopped into chilled coffee on a hot summer day. Mmmm.
