I know I keep promising a full house tour, but I’m honestly having fun leaking little snippets of our new home to you guys. Frankly, it’s hard to get more than one area clean at a time! So for today: the new bathrooms. One of the things that sold me on renting our new home was the bathrooms. I have a thing for real tile and wood as opposed to that cheap linoleum stuff we’ve had in all our apartments, and I was smitten when I saw that someone had put some real design effort into these spaces. Maybe it’s because my mom dragged me on endless house showings and spent hours oohing and aahing over bathroom suites when I was a kid. For whatever reason, I notice things like this.
While I do like colorful bathrooms, I find the muted tones in here to be really relaxing. And beautiful bathroom furniture like that pretty framed mirror gets me every time. And both bathrooms have a window! Score for ventilation! The bathroom in our last place didn’t have a window and it would get seriously stuffy in there after a long shower. I also like the little touches like the brushed steel/chrome look on the light fixtures and drawer pulls (and no, it’s not that cheap chrome-looking plastic coating…this is the real deal).
Also a big selling point? The fact that there are TWO bathrooms instead of just one! No more hopping anxiously outside the door yelling, “Hurry up, hurry up, for the love of mangoes…hurry the eff up!” when Nate is taking his sa-weet time in there. And I don’t have to worry about shower-scheduling for overnight guests. There’s plenty of bathroom to go around.
Oh, and did I mention that our bathroom came with this awesome dual shower head pre-installed? It’s the little things.
