Remember when I told you all I was going to a preview event of What to Expect when You’re Expecting the movie? I met up at the theater earlier this week with a bunch of my blogging friends and readers and we had a blast checking out the movie before everyone else!
That there is my good friend Erika and I both sporting our little baby bumps, and her brother Eriko trying to fit in with the preggo crowd. Yes, his name is Eriko. Her name is Erika. It cracks me up. Anyway, can you believe that she’s 8 months pregnant?! She’s only gained 13 pounds so far, but the baby is measuring above average size so all is well in that tiny little tummy of hers.
I personally thought the movie was spot-on in its portrayal of pregnancy. I’m not usually a big fan of movies with eight to ten different protagonists, but What to Expect When You’re Expecting pulled it off well. If slightly predictable (I mean come on, what do you THINK happens at the end of a movie about pregnancy?), the movie was hilarious to this currently expecting mom. With a one-year-old and another on the way, I’ve experienced just about every pregnancy symptom and side effect in the book, so I could totally relate to the about-to-have-a-meltdown mom and joined the rest of the crowd in loathing the I’m-so-perfect-I’m-creating-life glowy pregnancy lady. Those who aren’t expecting kids or who have conveniently blocked out the less than pleasant aspects of pregnancy may have a little trouble relating to the movie.
I also got to take home some samples of Centrum Specialist® Prenatal vitamins (Centrum is one of the sponsors who joined forces with Lionsgate to make this awesome screening possible). It’s a complete multivitamin specifically designed to support baby’s growth and development, plus pregnancy health. So far I’m loving them – and I like that they include higher daily values of most nutrients than other prenatal vitamins that I’ve taken in the past, so there’s no need to supplement with a bunch of other capsules. Best of all, they include DHA for healthy brain development. Check out the Nutrition Possible Facebook page for more information.
What to Expect When You’re Expecting comes out tomorrow, so don’t miss it!
