I'm smitten. I've been looking for a versatile, casual boot for quite awhile. The problem is that riding boots – particularly the tan variety – seem to have become something of a fad and now there are cheap knockoff versions everywhere, but none of them are reliable. I need something pretty, but also something that won't be destroyed when the slightest mist rolls into town. Something to fit into my active life, ideally a shoe that I can throw on over jeans, pair with a simple skirt to run to the mall or even tromp out into the forest with. Yeah, I go forest-tromping on occasion. I like my clothes to keep up.

Enter the Jambu Colorado boot. It's a sporty wedge with no annoying heel to slow me down (at 5'10”, I don't need any help towering over everyone). It has cute buckles and a mesh panel in the back with an accessible zipper for easy on-and-off on-the-go. I'm not sure what “Jambu” means…it sounds like some sort of African tribe. But when I read their motto, “Adventure Designs,” I was pretty much sold. Their reviews are phenomenal; seriously, 5 stars on Zappos with 24 reviews of this particular boot. I'm a big believer in feedback form my fellow shoppers and I LOVE Zappos' customer service. I really can't complain about the free shipping, either. I'm also pretty pleased with the whole Jambu mission, too. They're vegan-friendly with a focus on the environment, usingĀ 100% recycled, recyclable and re-usable packaging. And they're driven by principles like durability and comfort.

jambu shoeIf you ask me, I'd say style and convenience are also on that list. You can see more of my shoe obsession over on my Google+ album. What do you think? Would a boot like this meet a need in your life? And does it make a difference to you if clothing companies are vegan or environmentally-friendly?
