I've mentioned once or twice that my mother-in-law, Oma, is a nurse. Thank God for her! I didn't truly understand the value of having a nurse in the family until I had children. Oh my gosh, guys, she's like Jiminy Cricket sitting on my shoulder making sure everything is taken care of. She was my first call each time I went into labor, and the first to hear about my (numerous) false alarms. I'll admit that the occasional odd behavior or funky skin “thing” slips by me with three active kids, but she's right there on top of it. She points out health stuff I should look into further, and helps ease my fears when I do go into hypochondriac mode.
This woman has gracefully handled numerous 3am cries for help, and through her I've learned the importance of tracking child fevers. Whenever the kids get sick, one of the first questions out of her mouth is, “What has their temperature been?”
This clever gadget has been such a lifesaver when it comes to tracking our kids' health, helping me record their health issues, dose medication, even see community wellness updates. I've heard from some parents, though, that their children are picky about putting the thermometer in their mouth. They prefer ear thermometers, which I totally get! My oldest, here, is one of those children who is finicky about certain sensory things and likes to maintain control over his space.
So this month, I am THRILLED to help Kinsa announce the launch of their new Smart Ear Thermometer.
The team has been hard at work marrying the latest in cutting-edge technology with the latest in health services. The result? Fool-proof, instant peace of mind.
I'm obviously smitten with the product, as I've taken Kinsa on as a long-term partner. But you don't have to take my word for it. Check out the in-depth video below from Charlie and Andy (the infamous How to be a Dad duo) to see the new Kinsa Smart Ear Thermometer in action.
How are you keeping on top of family health this season?
