Being a mother is pretty great. I should know. I have one.
And as it turns out, I married one too. I didn't even find out she was a mother until about two months after Chelsea and I got married. Luck of the draw, I guess! I must be a really lucky guy because Chelsea is about to be a four time All Pro Mom in November, or so she tells me.
The greatest part about Chelsea being a mom is that she's a natural. It's like it just came to her. You want to know what it is that makes moms so great? Knowing, somehow, who comes first and who is number one every single day.
It's the day in and day out act of selflessness. It's knowing that everything our 3.3 children experience matters. Everything from breakfast to bedtime stories and all the in between. It's knowing when a soft hand for spilled milk – even on the leather couch – is more important than the couch. It's even knowing how to calm dad down when the boys won't eat their dinner…because she knows, somehow, that the boys are getting sick.
Chelsea is pretty great.
Our sponsor created this heart-warming video about moms, and it pretty much hits the nail on the head. This Mother's Day, even if you don't get breakfast in bed or a massage or whatever it is you really deserve, we hope you know that you are loved.
Mom, you make our days – every single one of them – pretty great.
