Did you guys catch Vintage Trouble on Leno last night? I told you all the other day about how their CD is my latest obsession, but I actually think they're even better live. Leno interviewed Jessica Simpson before the band performed, and it was totally worth it to sit through her bizzaro pregnancy stories to see them (my apologies to all the JSim fans out there. I just…don't…get it).
Anywho, the band performed Total Strangers on The Tonight Show. The lyrics to this song are edgy and a tinsy bit scandalous – just the way I like it – and Ty Taylor's smooth voice sounds like he stepped out of the 50's, an era whose music is hard to live up to. They dress the part in vintage-looking bespoke suits, and totally pull it off. I think you can only get away with dressing like that if you're going to do the outfit justice, which they do.
The Twitterverse seemed to agree with me about their awesomeness (and about Ms. Simpson, for what it's worth). I still can't believe that this band is only two years old. They sound like a group that's been playing together since high school. They're that in sync. They recorded their entire album in just three days spent at a studio making what was intended to be a bunch of demos, but ended up getting pressed into their first CD. Yes, it's that good.
The band is coming to San Diego in February with The Who and I am SO excited. I must go to this concert. Check out Vintage Trouble on Twitter and Facebook for their latest updates and to find out if they're coming to a city near you!
