I've been craving milk and cookies like crazy this pregnancy.
Nothing quite compares to the creamy mouthfeel of a big cup of milk and a freshly-baked cookie to go with it!
I haven't done the milk and cookies combo for at least a couple years, since we discovered that gluten and lactose are a little problematic for me. It hasn't been a huge deal until now, honestly. I learned to embrace black coffee, enjoy alternative desserts like dark chocolate and fruit, and generally just opt out of cereal altogether.
When a 3am pregnancy craving strikes, though, there are NO substitutes. It must be real milk and it must be real cookies.

Since a couple people in our family have varying diet needs, I thought it would be cute to present everyone with their own customized little cookie dipper cup with a cookie clinging to the side. I've seen this done with gingerbread cookies around the holidays, but never with chocolate chip cookies.
To make sure the cookie would bake with a little ridge in the side, I wrapped small cardboard pieces with parchment paper and stuck them upright in the edge of each cookie. Then, I just had to bake for an extra minute or two to wind up with slightly-crunchy cookies (perfect for dipping!).
Tada! Stage five clinger cookies.
Now everyone can choose the milk and cookies combo that works best for them. LACTAID® Milk is real milk – just without the lactose – so it totally satisfies. After having to restrict lactose in my own diet to nurse my middle son, I learned that there are many different degrees of dairy sensitivity and preferences. One in five Americans experience it, so to me it's really important to have options on-hand for my family and guests.
