What is even happening right now? I feel like I'm in some crazy person's dream! Nate and I kept making remarks like this to each other as we wandered through the Museum of 3D Illusions in San Francisco.

We invited our uncle and aunt Lars and Leilani, and had a hard time describing to them what exactly we were all about to witness. The Museum of 3D Illusions San Francisco is a pop up experience filled with 3D illusions and backdrops that transport visitors into otherworldly experiences – and make for some pretty killer photographs.

We've done similar experiences in the past, including Pop-Up Disney and The Museum of Ice Cream. As social media creators, we get offered tickets to a lot of these things. Not gonna lie, it's a dream job to be able to hang with your friends and family and take silly pics for a living. Even for non-photographers, snapping selfies with your buds is an awesome way to have some indoor fun and create lifelong memories.

They offer tips and tricks all throughout the museum, with marked floor spots showing where you should stand, anchor marks showing the ideal spot to take a photograph from, and framed photos on the wall showing the ideal photo outcome. The check-in folks are super helpful and offer a ton of suggestions about getting the proper angle for your social media shares.

There are even props and little rooms you can enter. This one was slanted in such a way that it makes our toddler (on the left) look gigantic and our big 8-year-old (on the right) look like a tiny baby! This photo shot with adults is extra hilarious.

Are there multiple locations for the Museum of 3D Illusions?

Yes! The Museum of 3D Illusions LA promises tons of fun with a diverse array of different backdrops, so it's totally worth it to make the drive and visit both. I certainly will. This one promises an upside down house, African safari, winged dragon and a red carpet Hollywood premiere backdrop.
