We're currently driving the RV through Texas, and just for the record, it is getting HOT. Naturally, this is the time when Chelsea decides she wants to ditch most chemicals from our lives and make me switch to a natural deodorant for men.
Why Make the Switch to Natural Deodorant
Because my wife said so. I mean, I consider myself to be mildly intelligent and have learned I have about an hours worth of bickering or complaining in me before I find I'm in a losing battle with my wife. Chelsea's had a fair amount of health issues recently, with migraines setting in somewhere around the birth of our last son. God knows no man wants a wife with a headache…much less a migraine as no amount of Marvin Gay can fight through that.
In an effort to suss out the problem, she's switched all her own stuff to natural ingredients and that seemed to help. Yay me! So then, as wives tend to do, she turned her attention to me because of course ‘I need fixing'. She has all sorts of theories about how aluminum can weaken the body's defense system, which I can understand. Her mother, however, has a number of other theories about aluminum, the government, and weather control I have to deal with at Thanksgiving and Christmas. THAT, I do not understand.
The problem is, there seems to be a big difference in the efficacy of natural deodorant for women and natural deodorant for men.
Us dudes, we sweat a lot. Well, actually, that is something my wife would say and I would outright disagree with. My problem isn't really sweat. When I was playing football, I would workout or practice three times a day. That's a LOT of sweating and I didn't really ever smell. Why? Because like I said before, I'm mildly intelligent and learned to take a shower…even three times a day. It's one of those biological facts. What WOULD cause an odor problem was a combination of my body chemistry and time.
I can't change my body chemistry so really I learned to fight the effect of time with the same scent my dad used; Musk. I can argue with my wife…but can't really argue with a good scent. I've used the same stick since middle school as pretty much nothing else smelled as good or legitimate or left me smelling like a teenager that wiped the sample flap of a cheesy mens magazine on his armpit until finally Chelsea pointed me to Native Deodorant and their Citrus & Herbal Musk.
The ONLY Natural Deodorant for Men
The only one that works, that is. This stuff was like a breath of fresh air. Or rather, a breath of Citrus & Herbal Musk…that same family scent. It turns out that they have over 5000 rave reviews, and they're the only aluminum-free deodorant that lasts all day in the battle against that ‘time smell'.
What is In Natural Deodorant, Anyway?
Native Deodorant contains no aluminum, parabens or sulfates. Formulated in San Francisco (that Gold Rush city) and hand-poured in the good old U S of A. The same USA that won World War Two. They don't conduct any sort of animal testing, so our new puppy Freya even approves. That's all good with me and especially Chelsea
Understandably enough, our puppy was a consideration when it came to me and a new deodorant. Dogs are big into scent and I wanted to make sure she didn't suddenly think I was a stranger or something. With puppies, consistency is key and a quick glance at the ingredient list tells me why she likes the smell so much: she loves coconut oil. It also uses tapioca starch, baking soda, milk of magnesia, shea butter, probiotics and the like. Honestly my new Native natural deodorant sounds a lot like a cookie…but it's not. It's a great smelling and hard working deodorant.
Where to Buy Natural Deodorant for Men
Walmart or Target, where Chelsea and I happen to split our time. You can also order it online and they'll ship it to you for free AND provide free return shipping if you're unhappy with it for any reason. We are on the road a lot so those stores are a common stop either way. When we are home, we live semi ruraly in Northern San Diego and having the ability to have simple items like Native deodorant shipped to us so we don't have to drive 30 minutes to the store is a life saver. Well, life ‘easier maker.'
So, if you want a great natural deodorant for men that comes from the cowboy frontier city of 1849 and made in the same country that, you know, won the big one, I recommend a try. Just hop on that ol' computer.
There's also Body Wash and Stuff
Once you're hooked on Native, you might want to switch all your gentlemanly grooming gear to them. Well, you're in luck. They have toothpaste, bar soap, and our favorite body wash that the whole family now is starting to use. I mean, I don't want any of my FOUR sons growing up smelling like a city boy magazine dedicated to telling you how to be more manly…that's my job as a dad. So my boys will smell Native.
Would you ever switch to natural deodorant for men? Which scent would you try: Eucalyptus & Mint, Citrus & Herbal Musk or Cucumber & Mint?
