Elich brought this Santa sleigh craft footprint home from preschool the other day.
Best Christmas gift ever.
His little foot is stamped in green for Santa's sleigh, and then both of his hands serve as reindeer with brown paint and red construction paper noses. You all loved our handprint reindeer and Santa handprint craft so much, I figured I should share this one as well. I'm so amazed at all the work that his teachers put in to create all these crafts for over a dozen kids in each class!
How to make this Santa Sleigh Craft
I actually remember making a very similar Santa sleigh craft with my own preschool when I was a kid. Footprint crafts were all the rage in the 80's, afterall, I'm not surprised that this craft was borrowed from history.
I also have fun making similar footprint crafts based on books, like this pig footprint craft. I can imagine that we could totally come up with some reindeer footprint crafts, perhaps an elf footprint craft, and maybe even a footprint craft featuring Santa's beard.
Requirements for Easy Christmas Crafts
In the meantime, this Santa sleigh craft is totally worthy of framing and hanging on the wall. Any old paint will do (just keep wipes nearby to clean up quickly) and you can easily get away with using any old printer paper, construction paper, craft paper or posterboard that you have laying around.
You can do SO MUCH with just a few craft essentials. We often wrap the gifts and then have the kiddos go nuts with paint, stamps, stickers, glitter, pom poms and constructions cut outs. It makes for some fun gift unwrapping times.
Make this Santa sleigh craft today or pin it for later, and have yourself a very Merry Christmas!
