Looking to make a DIY necklace holder? This little shelf is SO easy, put together with just a few store-bought components.
I really, really wish I could take credit for this but alas, it was just an awesomely happy find.
My life is brimming with pretty accessories lately. All my jewelry boxes and necklace hangers were full. I was planning to make a DIY necklace holder when I happened to stumble upon this little beauty at a local thrift shop. Somebody had gone to the trouble of buying a mini wall shelf, painting it with chalk paint and fastidiously screwing in all of these hardware store hooks. Why on earth they got rid of it is beyond me. I kind of want to meet this person and see what other clever crafts they have up their sleeve that they're looking to get rid of. Perhaps I could just tour them home and gather inspiration.
This DIY necklace holder fits perfectly in that empty wall space next to my dresser, and it reminds me to get all snazzy before I rush out the door. I do have a lot more jewelry stashed away, but these are my favorite everyday pieces that are bold and chunky and can really make an outfit while still being flexible enough to go with just about anything.
If you're looking to make your own DIY necklace holder, this is SO simple. Buy a mini wall shelf at Michael's, Walmart, Target or Bed Bath & Beyond. The kind with a little pencil groove on top makes for a convenient place to set your studs earrings. Paint it whatever color you want and screw in a bunch of brass hardware hooks.
Now why didn't I think of that?
this would be a great way to organize my jewelry drawer! thanks
Drawers always end up so cluttery. This way, everything’s at arm’s reach.
Super CUTE DIY project and easy enough that I can probably do it, too! I’m pinning this one right now so I don’t forget!
This was such an awesome score. I’m happy it helped someone else organize their stash.
This is so cute and would be great to keep necklace from getting tangled together. I hardly ever wear mine anymore because they have become on big mass! Thanks for the great idea!
They all just tend to become one never-ending chain after awhile, don’t they?
That is super cute! It looks like something that would be on my Pinterest board for “Stuff I pretend I might do someday.” I need to look around some thrift stores.
I keep going back to that same thrift store hoping to find some more crafty finds. So far, no dice.
Very Clever!
