Top 10 Knott’s Halloween Traditions for Kids

| | Updated:

The whole “having a baby” thing looks like it may put a slight damper on Halloween this year. Little dude's expected to arrive as early as next week, which means I'll have one more reason to celebrate my favorite season! In the meantime, I don't want our big boys miss out on the festivity if we happen to be in the hospital, so we headed up to Anaheim to enjoy some Knott's Halloween traditions.

The classic, beloved Knott's Berry Farm has long been known for their oh-so-creepy Scary Farm. On select October nights, the park transforms into a horrifyingly haunted space! For those of us who are looking for a less-terrifying option for the little ones, they also have Knott's Spooky Farm during October weekend days. This not-so-scary experience features giddy ghosts, mysterious mazes, and all manner of fun for the kiddos to get their Halloween on all throughout the month.

Showtime at Knott's Spooky Farm

Catch a show. Knott's Berry Farm is known for its shows, so naturally they're a big part of Knott's Halloween traditions! The Peanuts gang takes the stage over at the Camp Spooky Theater in a spooktacular extravaganza called The Monsters are Coming, Charlie Brown.

Decorations at Knott's Spooky Farm

Daring decor. One of our favorite things to do at Knott's Berry Farm is to wander around and check out the offerings at the novelty shops. They always have really interesting interactive elements and seasonal features, and during Knott's Halloween celebration you'll find all sort of devilish decorations around the Bottle House and Tinker Shop.

Knott's Spooky Farm's pumpkin patch

Character meet-and-greets. Back at the pumpkin patch, Linus appears for visits throughout the day! If your kids are Peanuts-obsessed, ask a staff member when and where you have the best chance to pal around with the gang. They typically have various appearances scheduled throughout the park.

Knott's Spooky Farm's Great Pumpkin screening.

Screen a classic show. We found a quiet corner at the Craft Barn where there was an ongoing screening of It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown! Perfect spot to cool down in the middle of a hot day.
