First Up: Sunsets on Fort Myers Florida

You're doing yourself a huge disservice if you don't make sure to plan your day around sunset and ensure that you're at the water's edge somewhere as the sun dips down. The sunsets in Fort Myers Florida are unparalleled. We aren't the sort of family that usually travels back to the same location repeatedly, but we've made this area a frequent destination because nothing quite compares to this view.

Fort Myers History

I've already talked about this spot in our 36-hour itinerary of Fort Myers, but Edison and Ford Winter Estates is worth highlighting again just to make sure you don't miss it. We've gone here with our family a few times now, and the kids learn something different at every visit. They do offer annual passes, if you're close enough to go multiple times throughout the year. We saw lots of locals who had clearly been here over and over again, and now they were using the space as a place to relax, chat with friends, study, and just hang out and enjoy the atmosphere.

While there are endless amazing sights around downtown Fort Myers Florida and Fort Myers Beach, I'd be remiss if I didn't remind you that you HAVE to see the quirky Bubble Room over on Captiva and the island charm of Sanibel. You also MUST make time for sea shelling while you're in the area. This is definitely a destination worth exploring thoroughly – and revisiting often!
