If you and your kids like stringing together macaroni beads, you'll probably be a fan of this melted snowman ornament craft.
I was seriously sitting at my desk like, “What do I have in this vicinity? What can I concoct with this random assortment of objects?” Voila! This melted snowman ornament craft was born out of the things I found within my reach.
Sometimes, laziness and boredom divinely converge into something pretty damn awesome.
Melted Snowman Ornament Supplies
For my melted snowman ornament craft, I used paint from BEHR. Their Marquee Interior paint in Semi-Gloss Cameo White has been one of my faves for quite a few projects around the house. All I needed other than that was three round beads in three difference sizes, a single macaroni noodle, some string, a black Sharpie and an orange Sharpie and a paint brush.
Now, I know that a lot of people are going to want to know why I used household paint instead of craft paint for this. Paint used for the home tends to be a lot thicker than acrylic craft paint, so I knew it would be easier to glob it on there and get a melted snowman effect on your ornament.
How to Make your Melted Snowman Ornament
Painting these beads really was not a delicate art. Glob it on there, making sure it drips down the sides a little bit to look like it's melting.
Glob, glob, glob. If the holes of your beads get clogged, you can clear them with a needle later to push your string through.
To hold the macaroni noodle “arms” in place, I tied one knot above and one knot below the macaroni piece. Don't try to pierce a hole through your macaroni for this melted snowman ornament craft or do any sort of complicated stringing-through-the-ends move. Trust me. It won't work. Simple is better.
